Getting started
Setting up for a parent or spouse
On the second onboarding screen choose “I'm helping someone.” You'll set up together — their name, their voice, an optional caregiver PIN — and Rejoin keeps them in charge: it speaks only in their voice, and their words always need their tap.
Banking a Personal Voice (do this early)
Personal Voice is built into iPhone (Settings → Accessibility → Personal Voice). It takes about 15 minutes of reading aloud and is best done while speech is still comfortable. Once banked, Rejoin finds it automatically during setup. If speech has already changed, Rejoin's built-in voices are warm and adjustable — and you can switch any time.
The three-minute setup
Splash → optional account → six short steps: who it's for, what's making speech hard, your voice (your first sentence is spoken aloud right here), a bit about your life, and whether anyone helps with your care. Every step can be skipped and changed later in Me.
Using Rejoin
How do the live reply suggestions work?
While the Speak page is open, Rejoin listens (the gold orb breathes to show it). When someone asks you something, three replies appear in your style. Tap to speak, switch tone with Reply-as, hold a card to edit it first — or ignore them and type. Tap the orb any time to mute; it turns gray and stays muted until you tap again.
My speech is hard to understand. Can Rejoin still help?
Yes — this is one of its favorite jobs. Speak as you can, and Rejoin shows “You said something like…” with its best guesses. Tapping the right one speaks it and teaches Rejoin your sounds, so guesses keep getting better. This learning stays on your device.
Adding and arranging sayings
Tap + on the Sayings page to write one. Hold any tile to pin, edit, or move it. Tap the arrange button to drag your board into exactly the order you want — tiles never reorder themselves.
Setting up the Care tab and inviting helpers
Turn it on during setup or later (Me → Care tab). Invite family or aides from the Care page; they see the logbook and can log in two taps. The optional caregiver PIN protects settings and the log. You can turn the whole tab off whenever you like.
Troubleshooting
Suggestions aren't appearing
Check three things: the orb isn't gray (tap to unmute), you're on the Speak page (listening only happens there), and you're online. Offline, Rejoin shows your most-used phrases instead — that's by design, not a bug.
The voice doesn't sound right
Me → Voice & speech: adjust rate and pitch, and add pronunciations for names Rejoin gets wrong (“Aoife — EE-fa”). If Personal Voice isn't listed, confirm it's enabled in iOS Settings → Accessibility → Personal Voice → Allow apps to request access.
Buttons are hard to hit
Me → Comfort: set Button size to Huge, and turn on Steady taps — taps register when you lift your finger, so brushes and tremors are ignored. High contrast lives there too.
For clinicians & SLPs
